Proteus is named after the ancient sea-god of Greek mythology who had the ability to change and assume different shapes at will.

Proteus Consultants specialises in strategy and implementation of improvement programmes at transformational and operational levels, identifying root causes of issues and designing programmes to address those issues.

At the core of what we do is engagement with our client through our diagnostic programme "Insight," and with our client's people through Rapid Improvement Events to facilitate creative solutions to problems whilst empowering them to make changes.

Our approach relies on taking the time to understand client needs and real issues, ensuring the scope of the project is clear; providing clear and unambiguous proposals for improvement, using data and evidence-based analysis to define root causes and appropriate solutions.

We are passionate about ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders involved in the change, demonstrating a viable business case and developing realistic plans for implementation.

Our clients have included the University of Warwick, University College London (UCL), University of Manchester, University of York, University of Southampton, Cardiff University, University of Cambridge, the Association of University Director of Estates (AUDE) as well as Investors In People (IIP) and, prior to its disbanding by the UK Government in 2017, the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES).
